It's been a long while!

It's been a while since I last posted on this blog. Life got a little bit crazy since last January! A lot has changed and we have actually moved since last January.

We recently moved to Lewisville last summer (June 2010) to put me closer to where I would student teach, in Frisco. We moved to a bigger, more homey apartment. Definitely an upgrade! We are very happy here, but are very anxious to get out of apartment living and into a home!

As most of you know, I got a job with Lewisville ISD in June after I graduated. It was extremely stressful and intense finding a job this past year, and with all of the budget cuts I was almost positive it wouldn't happen. Well, with my persistence and dedication to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher-it happened! Here I am 3 1/2 months into my first year of teaching and it is Thanksgiving Break already! It was a blast getting my room put together and I am in love with my fourth grade class. It was exhausting at first, but now that we have a routine down, it is much better and I feel very confident in the teacher I am growing to become.

Dusty is still with Staples, and is determined to become promoted as soon as a store comes available. This day and age it is extremely tough! I know it will happen for him when the time is right. He deserves it!

Braeden is four years old now and had his birthday party at Chuck E. Cheeses! Let's just say we won't be celebrating another birthday there anytime in the near future. He had a blast though, and had lots of people come to celebrate with him and that is all that matters.

Nothing new is really going on right now. We are currently saving to purchase a home in late spring. We are anxious to begin the next chapter in our lives!

Happy New Year!

Brae was playing play-doh and all of the sudden just started blabbering, "Happy New Year!" It was cute, he continues to say it even now, even with it being middle of January!

Start of a New Year!

So, 2010 is here! Braeden is now almost 2 1/2 years old, and as a proud mama I can officially say he is potty trained! He is so smart and picked up on it so fast and I am so thankful for everything he has brought Dusty and I these past 2 1/2 years that he has been with us. There is not doubt that he is the best thing that has happened to us and couldn't imagine our lives without our little man. He goes to pre- school twice a week and loves it! Everyone calls him "the little linebacker" with his stocky little body and broad shoulders! Dusty can only hope he has a sports career in the near future!

As you all know, I am STILL in school, yes still, haha, I will be done May 2011, which means I have 1 1/2 years left. I start my student teaching Fall 2010 and am really anxious and excited for it!

Dusty is still working at Staples and will be going to assessment for General Manager here within the next year, he is doing so well and I am so proud of how hard he works for our family. He hopes to go back to school for a business degree once I am completely finished and once we get our feet on the ground.

We are anxious for what the future holds, and can't wait to continue our life together!

Here's to a happy, healthy, and wonderful New Year!
